There is traditional decoupage with the images cut out and placed one upon another.
There is pyramage which is quite easy as all the cutting is straight. Here the images are cut in to geometric shapes and placed on top of each other.
Imfomage produces a different effect. Here you generally have a frame and you cut in to the picture as if you were looking in to the design.
There are two main types of decoupage Die Cut and 3 Dimensional. The Die Cut type are easy to do as the pictures are pre-cut. Silicon glue is quick and easy to use but you must allow time for it to set before you can post your decoupage design. It also allows you time to adjust your layers before it is set.
Foam pads are available in different sizes, colours and thickness. The usual depths offered are 1mm, 2mm and 3mm. The pads are widely available in white, less available in black and there are also clear pads and clear tape.
